The Commercializer, LLC is a strategic consulting firm focused on connecting researchers, technologists, educational institutions, and companies in underserved communities who are often times excluded from new and routine opportunities with the resources necessary to sustain and grow.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to advise individuals and organizations on ways to seek new research, create sustainable economic ecosystems and connect with entrepreneurial prospects that result in the commercialization of their assets (skills, knowledge, facilities, technologies, programs, etc.).

Janeya Griffin, The Commercializer®️ is an Intellectual Property (IP) Advocate with experience providing workshops/trainings for HBCU faculty in IP and Tech Transfer. She has also testified to congress on intellectual property, entrepreneurship, and diversity in patents. She is also a commercialization expert having almost a decade of experience as a technology transfer specialist at NASA including being a former Federal Laboratory Consortium Executive Board Member.

With a deep passion for serving others, Janeya advises aspiring entrepreneurs, universities, and small businesses, including formerly incarcerated individuals on building wealth by monetizing their talents and intellectual assets.

INITIATIVES

• Provide access and education through a network of experts aimed at helping women tech companies scale and grow
  

• Develop a program to position women tech companies to be able to receive SBIR/STTR funding
  

• Successfully navigate women tech companies through the SBIR/STTR process to increase qualified submissions
  

• Provide access to a technology transfer marketplace/virtual interface to connect HBCU researchers and small business innovators with IP within HBCU/MSI institutions
  

• Provide access to a shared commercialization platform that allows for meaningful engagement and best practices (knowledge transfer), between underrepresented researchers, students and small businesses with the goal of increasing the number of successful federal grant submissions from HBCUs
  

• Provide best practices on building strategic ecosystems, leveraging intellectual property to foster sustainability among HBCUs/MSIs
  

Develop the entrepreneurial mindsets of communities within inner cities and equip them with the skills, network, and resources to start their own innovative business enterprises utilizing intellectual property
